Maze Runner : The Scorch Trials is a Good Sci Fi WeekEnd Watch

Maze Runner :: Scorch Trials

If you liked Maze Runner, you are going to love its sequel  (period).  Having said that, Its also highly recommended that you don’t watch this movie without watching its prequel as it wont make much sense otherwise.

Maze Runner : Scorch Trails is a Genre Movie, its one of the movies which seem like an adaptation of a Play Station Game ,  perhaps they will make a game out of it someday.
Having said that, the Scorch Trials is way better than its prequel, the story canvass is much, much bigger than the Maze and Wes Ball has done a good job in raising the bar.  It is highly recommended that you watch it in 3D, the cinematography is superb and the action engrossing.
What I really liked about the movie was the story canvass which changes from a secured base station of one of the factions to desert flatlands to massive cityscape ruins and rocky mountain outcrops and more (Don’t Want to SPOIL it for you). There are the Bad Guys and there are the Nightmare Guys (wont divulge more), and there is a lot of running from them, interspersed with shooting and explosions, though the big guns come in much later. The cinematic atmosphere has been well built, kudos to the cinematographer, Gyula Pados and also the sharp film edit by Dan Zimmerman.

The Lead Actor, Dylan O’Brien has been well casted and there are a couple of female leads (Kaya Scodelario [If you have watched the sequel, you would remember her as the only female maze runner in the prequel), Rosa Salazar who has a great entry.  The young cast with fresh faces renders freshness to the movie.

A Good Weekend Movie,
After all, there has been no Sci Fi Release in India for quite some time.

PS: The Primary Weapon, an EMP Gun preferred by the Antagonists has been well introduced in the story, watching a Sci-Fi Weapon getting used really spiced up the movie for me.
